Thanksgiving is just around the corner! To get ready for this holiday, I have teamed up with Vanilla Gift to share some tips for hosting Thanksgiving dinner for family and friends! Keep reading for details on how to recreate this Ombre Pumpkin Fall Tablescape, as well as ideas for hostess gifts for any fall holiday parties you might be attending this year.
Anytime I’m entertaining, I always like to make my guests feel welcome and appreciated, which is why I put thought into styling a tablescape for an occasion like Thanksgiving. For this Ombre Pumpkin Fall Tablescape, I wanted to challenge myself to keep it budget-friendly, while using many items that I already owned or could DIY inexpensively.
To start, I pulled out my classic white dinnerware, gold and white flatware, off white napkins and simple wine glasses that I already owned. I accented these pieces with a gold placemat, gold leaf napkin ring and thanksgiving themed paper flatware holder at each place setting. I knew I wanted an accent color on the table, so I chose to layer peach appetizer plates at each place setting as well.
What is great about layering is that you can completely change up the look of a tablescape without having to buy all new dinnerware for each party. Instead, you can simply switch out a smaller item at each place setting, such as an appetizer plate or napkin, depending on what you already own, or what you can find inexpensively at the store. I think sage green, burgundy, or even a dusty blue would also make for a gorgeous accent color on a fall tablescape.
Next, I focused on finding another way to pull in the peach accent color in the tablescape, and ultimately decided to give my leftover pumpkins from Halloween a little makeover to create an ombre mini pumpkin table runner! This centerpiece had such a wow-factor, yet it was super simple and inexpensive to create. I painted the pumpkins in shades of ivory, beige, blush, peach and coral and finished them all with a metallic gold stem to elevate the look and tie it all together.
I rounded out the tablescape design by placing a mini pumpkin pie bite at each place setting. This dessert was created by simply cutting a store bought pumpkin pie into small bites using a 3” circle cookie cutter, and then topping each one with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I also poured an Apple Cider Mimosa for each guest, which was made with Prosecco and apple cider garnished with a fresh cinnamon stick.
With so much hustle and bustle in the fall season with parties to host, and parties to attend, I like to pre-plan some easy hostess gifts to have on hand so I am always prepared, even when invited to a gathering at the last minute! This year, I ordered several Vanilla Gift Cards in pretty gold designs that make a perfect hostess gift on their own, or combined with other small gifts in a gift basket.
To create this fall hostess gift, I picked up an autumn scented candle, a seasonal kitchen towel, and a cozy coffee mug to complement the Vanilla Gift Card. I arranged the items inside of a small craft box, layered with crinkle shred, and then finished the look with a mini pumpkin. You can purchase your own Vanilla Gift Cards at VanillaGift.com.
I hope you enjoyed reading my tips for Thanksgiving this year. Thank you Vanilla Gift for sponsoring this post!
