If you’ve been here before, you probably know that our family loves everything Halloween. We always have the house decked out in cobwebs, bats, pumpkins, ghosts, witches, and more. Along with our Halloween decor, we also go all-out with our DIY Family Halloween Costumes.
My husband and I have been making our own couple’s costumes since 2005. When we expanded to three, this didn’t change. We just started making a family costume alongside our couple’s costume. Twice the work equals twice the fun.
Scuba Diver and Baby Sea Turtle Family Halloween Costume
Year one as a pack of three was an exciting Halloween for us since we got to get our little guy in on the dress-up fun. We happened to be vacationing to a beach house around Halloween that year which made a great backdrop for our baby sea turtle and scuba diver costumes.

Animal Family Halloween Costume
Our second group costume was the easiest and most comfortable family Halloween costume we’ve made. Each person’s costume started with a pair of fleece footed pajamas, making this a perfect costume for cool fall weather and outdoor Halloween festivities.

Construction Crew Family Costume
Year three was the year of the construction zone. From a birthday party to summer entertainment to construction toys EVERYWHERE to Halloween. I learned more about construction equipment than I ever thought I would know. This boy wanted to be a vampire for a whole year until he spied my surfing Pinterest one day and saw a kid dressed as a yellow bulldozer. “Mom, I want to be a wrecking ball crane!”

Every year is an exciting new theme as our little guy’s interests change. All three of us put on our creative hats to bring our family Halloween costumes to life.
