How is it back to school season already?! 🤪 Anyways, I thought today I'd share some fun, easy and inexpensive ideas for styling your office, work desk, or dorm room workspace in a modern farmhouse style!
Of course, if modern farmhouse is not your cup of tea, then hopefully you'll still be able to draw inspiration from these craft projects and create a work space that reflects your tastes, and that motivates you to stay on top of work, whatever that may look like at the moment!

DIY Farmhouse Office Decor + New Printables
For these DIY office decor ideas, I was aiming for a chic, grown up vibe à la Joanna Gaines. 😁 So there are lots of mat black details, earthy tones, with a little wood thrown in for good measure.
Once again, if that's not what you like, then feel free to paint items whatever the color you fancy!
Apart from the paint and supplies like nautical rope, most of the materials for these projects were either from thrift stores, bought quite a few years ago, or literally junk that I have picked up from somewhere.
Therefore, these DIY decor projects turned out quite inexpensive as well, which is always a bonus in my book! 😉
DIY Farmhouse Memo Board and Command Station
For my DIY farmhouse memo board and command station, I used supplies that I already had in my garage. They'd been sitting there gathering dust, for literally years!
It turned out super fun, and my daughter even said that it looked like something you buy in the stores, so I guess that's a good thing? 😁
This memo board would be ideal to help keep you get organized with shopping lists, to do lists, after school activities or anything else you like. It's currently sitting in my kitchen and my family uses it all the time!
DIY Farmhouse Office Clipboard Art
I love a great way to display artwork, and clipboards are such a fun and inexpensive alternative to photo frames, right?
To make my clipboard art, I used some simple supplies, which you probably already have at home! I'll let you watch the video below to find out exactly what I used 😉
You could hang these clipboards on the wall, or simply display them on a mantel, shelf or desk for an easy and super quick decor. Not to mention that you can swap the poster for different seasons too!
DIY Farmhouse Chalkboard Globe
The next DIY farmhouse office was this cool, chalkboard globe. This is a statement piece of decor for an office space that looks ornamental, but that is also quite functional!
You know those inexpensive plastic globes we see everywhere this time of year? Well, this next project entailed customizing it to give it a more grown up, farmhouse look.
I've seen chalkboard globes for sale online for quite a few bucks, so I decided to make my own for a fraction of the cost!
At first, I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out, but I love the result! Plus, you don't have to make it into a globe at all! You could use it as a chalkboard to write messages to your co-workers or family. Cool, right? 😊
DIY Farmhouse Desktop Calendar
This next project was inspired by a similar desktop calendar I saw for sale online. But this DIY version is obviously much, much cheaper!

DIY Farmhouse Office Sign
For my last DIY decor project, I transformed a little cow garden sign into a cool office sign!
I love how each of these projects turned out, but this one may be my favorite! It was SO easy to make, and looks so cool on top of a bookshelf!
You could totally add some string or nautical rope to the back (using hot glue or command strips) to hang this sign on the wall somewhere in your office, but I decided to go the easy route, and left it as is! 😉
Like I said, all these ideas are perfect to help you get organized for the back to school season, and get your office, desk or work space at home looking super pretty without breaking the bank!
