Linen Bedding from MagicLinen

I have such a love for linen, so I was thrilled when MagicLinen reached out to me for a collaboration.  If you aren’t familiar with the company, MagicLinen is a family business based in Lithuania and they make beautiful kitchen and table linens, bath linens – even linen clothing, but I was immediately drawn to the linen bedding because I’m still plodding along with my slow bedroom makeover.  MagicLinen generously sent me one of their linen duvet covers, in white, and also a set of linen sheets, in dusty blue.  Their bedding comes in so many beautiful colors and it’s easy to mix & match.  I was initially tempted to choose a dusty blue duvet cover, but I think that might have been a touch too much blue in this bedroom!  I love the little pop of soft aqua from the sheets and the otherwise light and airy look of the simple, all-white duvet cover.

This linen bedding is absolutely gorgeous!  Plus it’s so soft and cozy.  It’s interesting because it always feels warm – even on a cold night.  I’ve washed it a few times and it gets even softer with each wash.  I didn’t iron it for photos because I highly doubt anyone irons their bedding these days.  I wanted to show what it looked like after being laundered and tossed on the bed, because that’s real life!  I love how linen looks artfully rumpled, even if it’s left in the dryer or slept on.

As you can see from the photos, this linen has a beautiful texture to it (it’s made from 100% European flax).  The duvet cover has a simple button closure with these pretty coconut buttons.  Inside there are four ties in the corners to help keep the duvet anchored firmly.  It is also an OEKO-TEX certified product, which means that it does not have harmful chemicals.  I wasn’t familiar with what that meant, so I Googled, and learned that it’s a worldwide certification system for environmentally friendly and socially responsible production facilities, specifically in the clothing and textile industries.  Knowing my new bedding was produced in such a facility certainly helps me sleep better at night!

There was only one tiny little drawback: the fitted sheet and duvet cover were a smidge too small for my mattress.  I think sewing linens for mattresses has the same difficulties as sewing clothing for bodies.  Just like a “size 12” body can be so many different shapes and proportions, not all King sized mattresses are created equal.  So if you have a mattress on the thinner side and you find you’re always swimming in your bedding, MagicLinen might be perfect for you!  I had to cheat a little for these photos and I moved the duvet a little off center because otherwise it doesn’t fully cover the mattress from this angle – and I wanted it to look nice for photos.  I just wanted to mention this to make sure you double check the measurements on the website against the measurements of your existing bedding to make sure you get the perfect fit!  I still love this bedding so much because it’s soft and beautiful.  To help make it fit perfectly I’m working on a little hack.

Overall, I’m really happy with the quality of the MagicLinen bedding.  My Mom has been helping me with my hack and she commented that the bedding was sewn really beautifully.  The duvet cover, especially, is really well made (it’s made in Lithuania).  It’s incredibly high quality bedding, with hundreds of excellent reviews, so I definitely recommend MagicLinen.  And if you’re not in the market for for new bedding right now, check out the kitchen and table linens, bath linens, linen curtains, and linen clothing!  Speaking of linen curtains, that’s what I’ll be working on next in this bedroom makeover (although the curtain rod I ordered is back ordered until the end of May).

P.S. here’s a peek at the bed undone, so you can get a closer look at the pretty sheets (freshly laundered before the photos!).  I really think this dusty blue is just the prettiest color!

Do you make your bed every day?  I make mine most days because I just feel like at least I’ve started the day by accomplishing something, lol.  Plus you can see my bedroom so easily if you’re headed to the bathroom or living room, so I like how the house feels more pulled together and tidy when the bed is made.  And I have a thing for lots of accent pillows, which can’t really be enjoyed to their fullest on a unmade bed…

Love the colour of the sheets! Your bedroom looks so fresh and pretty. I make my bed every morning – it only takes a minute or 2, and I can’t stand getting into a messy bed at the end of the day. Also, we have 3 cats who all like to spend time on our bed and I don’t want to climb under hairy sheets!
Thanks for the post about this linen company. I’ve been using linen sheets for years and love them in the winter, but not so much in the summer as I find them hot. This company has very good prices, and free shipping is such a bonus!

Yes, I can see how three kitties would enjoy climbing into warm sheets, haha! I’m glad this information was useful and that the prices are good – that’s great feedback.

Hi Tanya, I also love the colour, thanks for the review. I make my bed about half-way through the morning – I like to give it time to air.
Can you say something about the ordering and shipping process (and shipping cost)? Thank you!

I’ve read that leaving a bed to air is a good idea! Unfortunately I can’t speak to the ordering or shipping process because the bedding is courtesy of MagicLinen, so I don’t order it the way a regular shopper would. But the reviews are overwhelmingly positive on the website, so I would imagine the ordering and shipping process to be unproblematic. It’s a family owned business, so I think they do their best to make sure their customers are happy.

Looks so comfy! Great decision for blue sheets and white duvet!
Love the dog ❤ He seems to like the new bedding as well 🙂

Thank you! She’s not normally allowed up on the bed, so she was really enjoying the luxury haha.
