Well hey there, July!

It’s a new month and I truly can’t believe we’re halfway through the year. I love hearing each new month how you are really getting to see the benefits of Map My Month in action!

If you’re new to Map My Month, keep reading for more information! And if you’ve been doing the guided worksheets every month, I hope you’re getting as much out of them as I am.

Psst — if you love this idea be sure to check these out too:

Why Monthly Journaling?

Every January, we are so energized with the idea of a fresh start, a new year, and endless possibilities.

I love that feeling, don’t you?

But that being said, I’ve never subscribed to the whole “new year, new you” thing. The you that you are is exactly enough and you don’t need anything new to be worthy of great things.

However, what do love about a new year is the opportunity to get the mindset of a fresh start. It feels so good to get into a space of possibility, presence, and intention.

It also provides a beautiful opportunity to dream. To look quietly inward and discover the things that you really want, and what types of genuine goals you hold in your heart.

So these Map My Month journaling pages are like a monthly fresh outlook. They’re a way to keep that open feeling of wide possibilities, all year long.

I love the idea of giving yourself an opportunity to reset.

It’s a great space to create for yourself monthly to look ahead with fresh eyes and set new intentions.

Each month, on the 1st, I create and share a free downloadable guided worksheet. (You can download it at the end of the post.)

The monthly prompts will be the same, but we’ll focus on a different prompt each month and really dive deep on one of them. It’s a way to look at each question in a new way, and perhaps discover something you didn’t realize about yourself.

I’m so excited to see how our responses shift and change over the course of the year.

July’s Focus: Foreseeing Challenges

In June’s Map My Month, we focused on creating space. We examined what it would be like to let something go that no longer serves us, and how that can create space in our lives to fill with the things that truly matter.

This month, we focus on any challenges that we may see coming our way in July.

As you work on your Map My Month worksheet this month, give a little extra thought to the portion that asks: One challenge I foresee this month.

As you consider it, consider what you might have going on in your life in this season.

That could mean lots of different things! Maybe you’re extra busy with a work project, or family commitments. Maybe there is an event coming up that makes you feel anxious or worried. Or perhaps your challenge will come in the form of a goal that you’d like to reach.

There is no answer too big or too small. At this point in your process, you’re simply identifying what you see ahead.

Remember, the work on these journaling sheets isn’t the actual doing. It’s not like you’re checking off a box of letting something go. It’s more that the act of envisioning your life in this way can be the first step on the way to something good for you down the line.

Here’s what to do next. Find a quiet space for yourself, and get into a mindset of openness and possibility. Go through the rest of the prompts on the worksheet, using as much time as you need.

If you plan on participating in Map My Month each month, I suggest you get a binder or a folder to keep all of your worksheets in one place. You can look back at your progress and reference past months’ Maps to see how your year is progressing.

You could even add it to your Intention Blueprints binder if you did those last year!

Share Your Thoughts

Have you been following along with the Map My Month series? I’d love to know if you’ve been participating already or if this is your first.

Exercises like this can encourage us to think in new patterns or explore new ideas. It’s a simple way to bring some intention into your months and to really feel like you’re present in your own life, which is a good feeling.

Enjoy! xoxo
