5 Kids Projects With At-Home Supplies

5 Kids Projects

Looking for some fun projects to do with your kids as you’re stuck at home for awhile? Here are five ideas that require very few supplies, most of which you probably already have in your house. Take a look!

LEGO TISSUE BOX COVER

Most of us have plenty of spare LEGO bricks around the house, and here’s a fun way to use them. Follow the simple instructions in this post to create your own colorful DIY tissue box cover.

DIY PERCUSSION SET

Kids will enjoy creating this personal percussion set, then it will provide even more entertainment when they put it to use! All you need is an empty box, an empty can, decorative tape (I used Duck Tape, but you could also use washi tape), and drumsticks. Don’t have drumsticks? Use chopsticks instead! Check out the tutorial here. Once the project is complete, it’s fun to watch some Stomp Live videos on YouTube then have your kids create their own rhythmic performance.

DRINK BOTTLE WIND CHIME

Make a colorful wind chime to brighten up your backyard with just these simple supplies…a drink bottle, tissue paper, bottle caps, paint, and string/twine. See the full photo tutorial here.

MARBLED JEWELRY DISH

If you have a plain colored dish or bowl, try this fun marbling technique using nail polish and water! (Note that afterward it won’t be food safe.) Here’s a full tutorial.

DUCK TAPE BOOKMARKS

Cardstock and decorative tape are all you need to make your own bookmarks. If you have a hole punch and ribbon, you can make them even more exciting by adding a tassel. Here’s the instructions.

Hope these kids projects keep the little ones in your life entertained during this time at home! I’d love to see photos if you create them…be sure to share in the Amy Latta & Friends Facebook group so we can all get inspired together. Plus, you can find even more ideas for kids projects here in the archives to keep all your little crafters busy. Stay safe, friends!
