5 Non-Traditional Easter Basket Ideas

This year, instead of filling baskets that just have to get stored away the rest of the year, why not think “outside the basket” for your holiday gifting? Here are five non-traditional container ideas that will add to your other treats and gifts by being useful for more than just one day. Take a look…

Fun in the Sun

Fill a plastic sand bucket with treats…you can even include things like sunscreen, goggles, and sand/water toys. Then, kids will be able to take it along to the beach this summer and put it to good use! Want to take it a step further? You can personalize the bucket with your Cricut and some vinyl, or with stickers.

Potted Present

Trade the traditional basket for a flowerpot, which you can then fill with flowers or herbs. You can still incorporate a few sweet treats by taping them to wooden skewers and pushing them down into the soil! Kids or friends who like to garden would also enjoy receiving a flowerpot or watering can filled with seeds, gardening tools, gardening gloves, and other little treats.

Spring Back to School

By this point in the year, it’s not uncommon for kids to need a new lunchbox or pencil box. Choose whatever your child needs most, and fill it with goodies. You can even include a few new school supplies, like pencils, which also typically need to be replaced by the second half of the school year.

Set Your Cap

My great-grandmother used to talk about “setting your cap” for the Easter bunny…here’s a way to do it literally. Choose a fun hat and fill it with candy and small gifts, then when it’s emptied, the recipient can enjoy wearing the hat all year long. It’s a gift that keeps giving!

Hug in a Mug

Neighbors, teachers, and friends would be thrilled to receive a few treats held inside a special coffee mug or tea cup. Add coffee pods, tea bags, small cosmetic items, and of course, chocolate, to make this thoughtful little Easter gift.

Which of these non-traditional Easter basket ideas is your favorite? Who in your life would enjoy receiving some of these gifts? Hope you have a blessed holiday, and happy crafting!
